Eric Montanios qualified as Barrister-at-Law of the Middle Temple, London in 1965. In 1967 he qualified as advocate of the Supreme Court of Cyprus and started practicing in the chambers of his father Michael Montanios with whom in 1969 he formed the firm Montanios & Montanios. He is now the Senior Partner of the Firm.
Eric’s involvement with aviation law started in 1981 and he has since been dealing extensively with the sale, leasing, financing and mortgaging of aircraft, acting on behalf of major international financing institutions and leasing companies. He has also dealt with registration and deregistration of aircraft. He is now assisted by his colleague Elvina Montanios.
Eric is the contributor of the Cyprus Chapter (with updates) in “Aircraft Finance – Registration, Security and Enforcement” (contributing since 1989) and “Aircraft Liens and Detention Rights” (contributing since 1998), both books now been published by Sweet & Maxwell, London.
