Fernando Salazar-Paredes

Fernando Salazar-Paredes is a Bolivian lawyer and scholar, Senior Partner and founder of the prestigious law firm Salazar, Salazar & Asociados Soc. Civ.

With a polyphasic personality, Mr. Salazar-Paredes is also a seasoned diplomat, university professor, journalist and politician. He is considered one of the most prominent and concerned internationalists of Bolivia specializing in Private and Public International Law.

Full professor of “International Private Law” at the School of Law of the Universidad Mayor de San Andres, the most influential university of Bolivia and of “Foreign Policy” in the School of Political Sciences of the same university, Mr. Salazar-Paredes has published more that a dozen books on international affairs. He was also teacher at the Catholic University of Bolivia and the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. He currently also teaches post-graduate courses at the Universidad Andina “Simon Bolivar”.

Dr. Salazar-Paredes is a former President of Lloyd Aéreo Boliviano S.A. and has also advised the Compañía Boliviana de Transporte Aéreo Privado S.A. (AeroSur), General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE), International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), Duganair Technologies Inc., High Tech Avionics & Accessories (HTAA), CSDS Aircraft Sales & Leasing Inc., Global Aircraft Leasing Partners, LLC, Copa Airlines, among others.

Currently, Dr. Salazar-Paredes is a Member (Judge) of the International Court of Arbitrations headquartered in The Hague, member of the Bolivian Bar Association, member of the Bar Association of La Paz and member of the Santa Cruz de la Sierra Bar Association.

Fernando was educated at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA), La Paz, Bolivia, Licenciado en Derecho, Ciencias Políticas y Sociales. Post-graduate studies International Law Commission,

Fernando specializes in Aeronautical Law, Corporate Law, Regulatory Law, Private and Public International Law.
