Sonal Sejpal is a Partner at Anjarwalla & Khanna LLP, one of the leading law firms in Kenya, and has been with the firm for over 21 years. Sonal also provides support to A&K Tanzania, A&K’s affiliate firm in Tanzania. Prior to joining A&K, Sonal worked at Franks Charlesly & Co. in London for 11 years (6 of these as a partner). She is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with considerable experience in aviation finance.She has represented aviation firms as well as other clients, such as lessors, banks and investment funds doing business in the aviation sector. She has advised aviation clients on their commercial, financial, aircraft purchase and leasing, regulatory and litigation matters.  Sonal’s other areas of expertise include banking, syndicated and project finance, restructurings, insolvency, corporate commercial matters and employment. She is also recognised for her expertise in Tanzanian law.

Sonal is a member of L2B Aviation which was nominated as the Best Global Aviation Law Network 2018 by Chambers Global. Sonal is also a thought leader in the region in Aviation law having contributed to various, publications, including the Aviation Law Review by the Law Review, IATA Aviation Liability Reporter and Aircraft Finance and Aircraft Liens by Sweet & Maxwell. She has until very recently sat on the Board of Directors of both Liberty Life Insurance and Heritage Insurance and is the Vice Chairperson of the British Chamber of Commerce.   She is ranked as a leading lawyer in Kenya by Chambers Global, IFLR1000, Legal 500 and other publications.  Sonal graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Westminster, England.
