Brian Beatty represents clients in transactions involving the title, registration, buying, selling, leasing and financing of aircraft and concentrates his practice on matters which fall under the purview of the Federal Transportation Code, Federal Aviation Administration Regulations, FAA Aircraft Registry, Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Aircraft Protocol, and International Registry.
Brian’s practice involves the review of FAA records for aircraft, engines and propellers and advising clients regarding title issues as well as liens and encumbrances of record at the FAA. He also reviews security agreements, leases, bills of sale and other documents to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and procedures and advises clients on matters arising under the Cape Town Convention with regard to the filings of interests and prospective interests in aircraft with the International Registry.
In addition to his private practice, Brian serves as an adjunct professor of law at the Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he teaches aviation law.
Brian earned his undergraduate degree in economics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and his law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Prior to becoming an attorney, Brian was a captain in the U.S. Army Field Artillery and served in combat during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
