Augusta Abogados recruits aviation and tourism law expert

David Castaño started practising in the aviation industry in 2006 and during all these years has become one of Spain’s leading experts in aviation and tourism law. His expertise includes international contracts and regulatory law practice, as well as aircraft finance and acquisition transactions, as well as project development in the fields of aviation and tourism law.

David Castaño graduated in Law from the University of Barcelona and thereafter obtained a master’s degree in International Business Law from ESADE and a MsC in Air Transport Management from City University of London. He has combined is professional activity with teaching activities, as lecturer of Aviation Law at the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona until 2017.

After initial experiences with private jet operators in Spain and Ireland, David worked during the last 9 years at Vueling Airlines, where he developed the legal department of the company and acted as General Counsel over the last year, being the main contact with engine and aircraft lessors, owner, financiers and maintenance providers.

David will be leading the Madrid office of Augusta Abogados, providing high quality services to the different clients of the firm as well as all other players in the aviation and tourism industry.
