Alves Pereira & Teixeira de Sousa, RL (“APTS”) was founded in 1990 by its senior partner, José Alves Pereira, under the name “José Alves Pereira & Associados”. In 2004, the firm began a new professional cycle in one of the most prestigious business districts of Lisbon.

In addition to the previous professional team, several reputed lawyers decided to join the renewed APTS. Presently the firm is composed by a team of 20 lawyers and staff.

The law firm’s long-term national and foreign clientele originates from diverse areas: banking, insurance, transport, construction, tourism, advertising and media, franchising, retailing, telecommunications, food and beverages and IT.

All practice areas are dealt by the law firm.

As far as our experience in the aviation sector is concerned, we represent airline companies, aircraft and airport operators, avionics manufacturers, ground-handling service companies, insurers and reinsurers, and other service companies in corporate and commercial matters, accidents and incidents, insurance and litigation matters.

The Aviation and Transportation practice of APTS covers inter alia the following areas:

APTS is an active member of the European Air Law Association (“EALA”) and of L2bAviation. We have prepared the Portuguese chapter of Getting the Deal Through – Air Transport 2010-2016 and we are also an active contributor for the annual IATA Liability Reporter.
