Kerwin K. Tan

Kerwin Tan is the Managing Partner of Tan Hassani and Counsels. Prior to founding the Firm and for most of his professional career, he worked at one of the biggest, top-tier law offices in the country handling all types of corporate and commercial transactions and related tax practice. 

Currently, Kerwin manages the Firm with his partners and special counsels. He mainly focuses on corporate and commercial transactions, foreign investments, securities, tax and aviation law. His experience includes handling transactions in banking, business process outsourcing, construction, energy, information technology, manufacturing, mining, real estate, and telecom. In particular and as a specialized field, he heads the aviation law practice of the Firm and has personally led the legal team in various aircraft financing transactions throughout the years and from which he has gained immense experience with different types of aircrafts and situations, mostly representing foreign aircraft owners and lessors in structuring the finance or operating lease, preparing the transaction documents, and ensuring the interest of the owners are protected in the aircraft registration. Among the notable deals he has assisted on is Bell Textron Inc.’s winning bid to supply helicopters to the Philippine Government worth almost US$250M, and several of Textron Finance’s aircraft financing transactions through the years. He also acts as legal counsel to several licensed air operators in the country, appears before the civil aviation authority, and has assisted with the application to operate scheduled and non-scheduled air transport services.
