Kenneth Basch has been living in South America continuously since 1984. In 1990, he opened the Latin American office of Clyde & Co in Sao Paulo. In January 1996, together with Carlos Rameh, he founded Basch & Rameh.
Ken’s professional experience concentrates on corporate matters, corporate finance and asset-based finance and in particular aircraft. He also specializes in assisting Brazilian companies with ventures outside Brazil and in the negotiation and drafting of international commercial contracts, shareholder agreements, prospectuses, cross-border leases, and mergers and acquisitions.
Ken frequently publishes articles on asset-based finance subjects in a variety of journals and trade magazines.
Ken studied at Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana, B.A. Magna Cum Lauda in Latin American studies and political science (1980) and Washington University St. Louis, J.D. (1983). Kenneth qualified as a Lawyer, Illinois, U.S.A., in 1983.
Ken speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.
In recent years Ken has acted for numerous banks, leasing companies, manufacturers and export credit agencies in the financing of business aircraft and helicopters, in particular Embraer, Dassault and Sikorsky aircraft. He has also been involved in the financing of numerous spare engines and several flight simulators. He has recently acquired experience with the Cape Town Convention, which Brazil is in the process of implementing.
