Trowers & Hamlins LLP entered into a formal association agreement with Abdul Karim Al Fauri & Associates in 2005. Adbul Karim Al-Fauri & Associates was established in 2002. The three partner firm has a corporate practice that represents many of Jordan’s large companies. Partner Abdul Karim Al Fauri previously spent ten years at Trowers & Hamlins and his team continues to assist international law firms with due diligence in Jordan. Prominent international clients include Bloomberg and Visa. Al Fauri’s experience outside Jordan means the firm is much in demand and enjoys a close relationship with the government. Clients are ‘increasingly looking for lawyers with international experience, and not many other firms in Jordan can offer that’ (Legal 500 2008).

Abdul Karim Al Fauri & Associates has advised the Jordanian government on privatisation in the electricity, gas and petroleum sectors. It recently finished a draft of the new Petroleum Law, which is currently before parliament. Projects and disputes advice to the Privatisation Commission show the firm’s name partner Abdul Karim Al Fauri is much respected. The firm is currently advising the Jordanian government on a proposed pipeline across Jordan to the port at Aqaba, and on the country’s master plan for power, and assists companies in the country’s potash sector – a vital source of export revenue – on projects outside Jordan.
