Mrs. Fernández A. De Pou has extensive experience in the fields of aviation, ports and airports. She has been for several years the Legal Counsel for Asociación de Líneas Aéreas (ALA- Airlines Association), as well as the Airports Association.

Maria Esther provides specialized legal services to private sector clients in the different branches of these sectors with regard to all their legal needs in the country. She has worked for several years in the maritime, corporate (mergers and acquisitions), foreign investment and finance structuring domains, arbitration, taxes, as well as concessions, privatizations, agreements and real estate law.

Throughout her professional career she has advised leading companies in these sectors in their business operations in the Dominican Republic. In addition, she has represented the Dominican Republic before the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC).

Maria Esther has participated in numerous national and international conferences as speaker and has been a professor at several national universities and institutions in her areas of legal expertise as well as in the field of arbitration and mediation.

Maria Esther has contributed to various national and international publications and has collaborated internationally in books on aviation. She has participated in various committees for the review and promotion of laws such as the Civil Aeronautics Law, the Company Law, the Arbitration Law, the Ports Draft Bill, Customs Bill and the Mercantile Restructuring and Judicial Liquidation Draft Bill. Maria Esther was educated at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic (LL. B., Summa Cum Laude, 1990); Air and Space Law Institute-McGill University, Montreal, Canada. (Certificate of Studies in Aeronautic Law, 1992); Sao Paulo University, U.S.P., Brasil, (LL. M. in International Law, Major in Aeronautic Law 1994).

Maria Esther is a member of the Dominican Bar Association (1990); Latin-American Association of Aeronautic and Spatial Law (ALADA), Dominican Association of Air and Spatial Law (ADDAE); Inter-American Bar Association; National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE); member of the Board of Directors of the Institutional and Justice Foundation (FINJUS); Vice-president of the Legal Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic Judicial Interpreter and Arbitrator of the Commerce and Production Chamber of Santo Domingo.

Maria Esther speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese.
